Definitions
"Event" means
something that happens or is
regarded as happening; an occurrence, especially one of some
importance;
the outcome, issue, or result of
anything;
something that occurs in a
certain place during a particular interval of time.
"Event Data" means electronic listings of events
including festivals, concerts, seminars, sporting events, business
events, business conventions, community service organization
calendars, etc.
"User" means a consumer; anyone who accesses
vu247.com managed Event Information without a user name and password
using the Internet via computer or cellular telephone technology.
"Registrant" means any User who registers for a
user name and password to a vu247.com enabled website. Registrants
provide basic details about themselves, including at least an email
address and possibly a cell phone number. Registrants can post
comments and reviews and request a feed of vu247.com Events to be
placed on their web page/site. Feeds to their web site will contain
at least 1 vu247.com banner ad. Feeds to their web site will be
distributed by Widgets (a standard Internet method to instantly add
new applications and advertising to a web page without end user host
application programming).
"Event Contributor" means any individual or
organization who registers with vu247.com to create an electronic
listing for their event on a self-service basis. Event Contributors
receive a feed of their listed Event Information and supporting
access application as a Widget.
"Event Manager" means organizations that purchase a
vu247.com Event Manager License to create and manage a sub-network
of Event Contributors. The Event Manager allocates access to Event
Contributors to aggregate Event Information from members they
service. Event Managers have full access to the Event Information
submitted by Event Contributors in their sub-network. Event Managers
will likely receive feeds of Event Information from their
sub-network via more user controlled web services, including XML.
Widgets are not recommended for this application as the output will
be too limiting for host applications.
"Ad-Pins" means an
in-market supplier such as a restaurant, bar, attraction, limousine
company, etc. that is entered into the database and linked to a
venue/event. Users will then see these suppliers on a map with the
Event, and be able to link to the supplier's site/service offerings
by selecting "Show Me" Services/Attractions within a
certain radius of the venue/event. An Ad-Pin that is an In-Market
Supplier will pay a fixed fee per venue/event link.
"Syndicated Feed License" means a License for media
organization (ie. such as the CBC, Sun Media, etc.), who want to
republish, or reprint Event Information aggregated by vu247.com from
Event Managers, Event Contributors and Territory Master Licensee
organizations.[Syndicates will likely receive feeds of Event
Information from vu247.com via more user controlled web services,
including XML. Licenses are sold directly by vu247.com.
"Territory Master License" means a License to
operate vu247.com services under the vu247.com brand within a
geographical area of the world.
"System Administrator" means vu247.com in the
context of management tasks associated with technology and
publishing of aggregated Event Information.
"Alliance Partner" means organizations that resell
vu247.com services on a revenue sharing basis including advertising,
Event Manager and Event Contributor Licensing.
"Calendar Application" means the technology that
enables a website visitor to access Event Information using a
computer or cell phone. The Event Calendar Application is placed
onto third-party websites using the vu247.com Calendar Widget.
"vu247.com Branded Websites" means websites owned
and operated by the Company which contain event information along
channels or territories. For Startup, the Company is launching
VU247.COM as a portal website that will aggregate all Public Event
Information from Licensees on a permission free basis.
"vu247.com Calendar Widget" means the technology to
incorporate the vu247.com Calendar Application onto an Event
Contributor's own website for consumer access using a computer or
cell phone.
"Listing Fee" means a fee charged to Event Manager
Licensees.
"Channel" means the category of event data, such as
Travel, Music, Sports, Meetings, Concerts, etc. which may also
contain sub-channels such as Music/Indie/Urban/Folk, etc.
"Public Record" means an event record created by an
Event Contributor that is published on all vu247.com owned and
syndicated web sites with permission.
"Private Record" means an event record created by
an Event Contributor that is restricted to being displayed only on
the Event Contributor web site or WAP devises and is not included on
any vu247.com owned web sites. These records are usually for
corporate meetings and conventions.
